Biography:
Coach Megan is in her first year as the Head Varsity Cheerleading coach for Northwest Area. For the past nine years, she has coached at Northwest in a variety of ways. Coach Megan began her coaching career back in 2015. She started as a volunteer coach for the Junior Rangers program where she remained for two years. She then became the assistant cheer coach for six years and finally went on to become the head varsity cheer coach.
When Coach Megan was in school, she cheered for 13 years. She started from a young age cheering for the Jets (Junior Rangers) all the way up to the Northwest Area Rangers until she graduated.
This summer of 2024, Coach Megan lead the cheer squads to NCA Cheer Camp where they earned a variety of awards. They came home with 1st place in the NCA top team band chant for the JV/Jr High division and the Hurkie Team Award for JV/Varsity. The squads also brought home the stunt S.A.F.E. certificate as well as the NFHS squad credentialing certificate. The Northwest Rangers were also rewarded with two spirit sticks, a certificate for technical excellence for motions and stunts, and a variety of other ribbons.
Coach Megan hopes to spend many years building the cheer program into a fun and safe environment where all current and future athletes feel welcome and have the opportunity to succeed and grow.
