Sean Miller

Head Boys Basketball Coach

Boys Varsity Basketball

Head Coach Sean Miller is in his 4th year as head boys' basketball coach leading the Rangers to an overall record of 33 wins and 38 losses.

Coach Miller began his coaching career in 2004-2005 as a 7th grade boys' basketball coach at Hanover Area in Hanover Township, PA. At the conclusion of that season, Coach Miller was promoted to Head Junior High Coach at Hanover Area where we remained for four more seasons. During the 2007-2008 season, Coach Miller began coaching with the Backcourt Hoops AAU Program run by the late legendary coach John Bucci. Coach Miller has been involved with the program for the last 14 years coaching future college and professional basketball players in the area.

In 2009-2010, Coach Miller then became lead Varsity Assistant at Hanover Area for one season before moving on to be the Head Junior High Coach at Dallas Area in Dallas, PA for the 2010-2011 season. Beginning in the 2011-2012 season, Coach Miller became lead Varsity Assistant at Wyoming Seminary Preparatory School in Kingston, PA where he remained for four season before moving on to be the Assistant Men's Basketball Coach at Luzerne County Community College located in Nanticoke, PA.

After two years away from coaching, Coach Miller took his first head coaching job in 2018 and promptly lead the Rangers to a PIAA District 2 Class AA Runner-Up finish while earning a District Silver Medal. The Rangers ended that season with an OT loss to one-loss Millville in the first round of the PIAA State Playoffs. After a down season of 7-16 in 2019-2020 losing to eventual District Runner-Up Mt. View in the first round of the District 2 Class AA Playoffs, the Rangers bounced back in their new league in 2020-2021 and finished at .500 with a record of 11-11 and losing again to another eventual District Runner-Up, Elk Lake, in the semi-finals of the District 2 Tournament. The Rangers also captured the East Division of the Mid-Penn League in their first year as a member in 2020-2021. The Rangers first division title in 10 years.
